W Barcelona W is for Wonderful

BARCELONA, SPAIN

Back to Barcelona for the 4th time. It is always great coming back, because this is one of those cities you ever finish to explore. This time the explortion starts from the beautiful W Barcelona Hotel where I’m staying as a guest. For now it has been raining non stop so the hotel turned out great, given that from the 14th floor I have got the views of all the important buildings of Barceona. But I’ll talk in more details about the hotel on a later post.

For now I have had a long walk on the beach in those few hours when it stoped raining. These 7 days of holiday might turn out in a guide about ‘What to do in Barcelona when it rains’, but hopefully the sun will come out and I will get to use the bathing suit.

W is a lifestyle destination. Not just a cool name added to it but a real space where you don’t just get to sleep, even though sleeping with that view is enough to get you an experience. Being located on the far end of the mole of Barceloneta it gives the right isolation from the city chaos of Barcelona. It seems like being on your own private island with gold sand beaches, surrounded by deep blue seas and having around you all the things that you might need for a perfect holiday. I stayed at the W Barcelona for a week and divided my time between cultural visits to the city monuments and museums, and relaxing sessions by the pool, tapas tasting at the Bravo restaurant, cocktail sipping at the W Lounge, of hard partying at the Eclipse. Whatever I did the service was impeccable. There is a W Insider available all the time to book you tickets for soccer games, cool music shows, or whatever entertainment request one might have. The Whenever/Whatever service opened whenever= 24/7 to which you can ask for help on whatever = everything indeed. I did use the service to print my airplane tickets, asked a first aid kit for my feet which had been destroyed after a 15 hour walk up the hills of Barcelona, and at a certain point I was about to ask them to sing me a song, just to see at what extend was the ‘whatever’ going. I’m sure they would have singed me a spanish serenade.

W is for Wonderful.
