Arguably the world’s most iconic jewelry brand, Tiffany & Co has recently released their first scent in over a decade. Just when you thought they had all things romantic covered, the Tiffany Eau De Parfum is the newest addition to the collection, paying homage to the sense of luxury and romance that Tiffany represents.
Mastermind perfumer Daniela Andrier has created a contemporary and vibrant scent that was inspired by diamonds and skin. It opens with notes of vert de mandarin (green mandarin) and the fragrance is centered on the noble iris flower, an often recurring motif in its jewelry designs. This signature ingredient embodies Tiffany’s heritage and infuses a rich sense of femininity and sophistication into the scent. The base notes, a patchouli base with lingering musky notes which gives a luscious finish on the skin.
It’s unsurprising that the jewelry establishment would pay much attention to detail to the design of the perfume bottle. It’s said to resemble the infamous 128.54 carats “Tiffany Diamond” and its shoulders resembling the popular Lucida-cut diamond engagement ring. The potion itself is ever so slightly tinted Tiffany blue synonymous with its little blue boxes. Safe to say, this could put a tick in the “something blue” box for many brides-to-be.
In true Tiffany spirit, the fragrance launch party held in New York was a dramatic soiree and certainly captured the boldness and sensuality of the new product. Following cocktails and Hors d’oeuvre musician, St Vincent gave an exquisite 5 song performance, opening with a cover of the Beatles, ‘All You Need is Love” which was recorded especially for the fragrance campaign. The reinvention of a classic song was the perfect accomplice to what is supposedly the reinvention of a classic brand. The advertising campaign also featured models; Julia Nobis, Vittoria Ceretti, Achok Majak and Georgina Grenville. It’s no surprise that is was oozing with youthfulness and diversity as the brand’s new chief artistic officer, Reed Krakoff has been working to entice a generation that is known to associate Tiffany & Co with their mother’s pearls.
The Tiffany & Co ethos is centered on the highest standards of quality and design which have made it such a great institution over the past decades – and such a trusted maker of gifts. This fragrance is no exception and smells of a special occasion. With holidays on the horizon it there is no doubt that the little blue box containing the Eau De Parfum will be sitting under the Christmas trees of Tiffany diehards everywhere.
