Omega Experience: Visit in Neuchatel For a lake lover like me, having a hotel room which is literally over the lake was a first. This is how I picture myself living once I reach the age of 85 where I would have stopped being the city girl who longs for social events. I haven’t picked the lake yet but Neuchatel enters my list. Surrounded by forests and heels I really loved how quiet it is. I also had the chance to visit the first work as an architect of Charles-Édouard Jeanneret, known to all of us as Le Corbusier. Called Maison Blanche, it was built in 1912 by the architect for his parents to live in, and it was like his graduation project while still studying architecture on his own through his travels in Europe. It was sad to hear that somehow this house was forgotten and abandoned before a group of Neuchatel residents decided few years ago to form an association which bought and restored it to its original design in every small detail. Now the house is opened to the public and Le Corbusier’s first work can be admired by architecture students and lovers.
