Everytime I attend a Trussardi collection presentation, I think of how important is in the fashion industry that family businesses have still their independence which is expressed by keeping their style roots without thinking of momentary trends. While Trussardi manages to always bring fresh designs and styles, it also never parts from the fil rouge that has made it a recognizable fashion brand worldwide. For Spring Summer 2014 the fashion house brings a family member back on the design team. Gaia Trussardi is the new Creative Director for the Women’s collection and she immediately brings her own inspiration to the runway. The SS14 collection was inspired by David Lynch’s dangerous women characters adding Trussardi’s positive outlook and travel theme. The Trussardi woman takes on her imaginary roadtrip through California a wardrobe made of flowing blouses, manly jackets, long sleek skirts, ribbed dresses and bocer shorts. She accessorizes her travel look with straw cowboy hats and printed organza scarves. I’d wish she would take me on this trip with her and maybe lend me the python print jackets.
